Finals Day October 2022

Our October competitions are coming to a close and we are now preparing for our 2022 October Finals.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in Cumann na mBunscol in your schools. The commitment and dedication teachers , parents and children have shown to organise and run these competitions in your schools has been absolutely outstanding.

Teachers can take great pride in that, in my opinion,  they are at the real grass roots of the GAA.

Thanks to everyone for their help, particularly in the past two weeks when the fixtures and emails have been very busy.

Well done to all teams this year and congratulations to all those who have reached a final.

Finals Day October 2022

Please be out on the pitch at least 20 minutes before your final is about to start to allow for the parade, team photos and warm up.

For example, if a game is to start at 3 p.m. ,teams will need to be out on the pitch at 2.40pm  to allow time for team photograph and parade.

Please plan accordingly regarding your arrival etc.

It is very important that all games start on time , as the finals need to be finished promptly at 6pm each day and to prevent a backlog.

  • Entry fee is €5 , please let parents know.
  • Schools are responsible for their own first aid.
  • Please remind parents, teachers and children to show respect to the referee and opposition.
  • Please bring your own footballs.
  • Cumann na mBunscol will pay the referees expenses for the finals.
  • In O Connor Park, all supporters enter via the turnstiles and Teams enter via the Players entrance ( green door opposite Spar).
  • In the interests of child protection, please ensure that any child (i.e. a supporter at the match) who is using the public toilets in O Connor Park or St Brendan's Park , is accompanied by an appropriate adult.
  • To reduce the risk of any accidents, I would like to remind schools and parents that if they bring children to the game, children should be seated properly in the stand at all times and not running around the venue unsupervised and using it as a playground!
